Vantage in Philanthropy has had a fundraising presence in San Diego, Los Angeles, and San Francisco since 1990, representing the America’s Cup Hall of Fame capital campaign during the 1992 and 1995 America’s Cup events. We also partnered with Scripps Institution of Oceanography in La Jolla on a major donor event for the Around the America’s ocean conservation project.
Vantage in Philanthropy completed a capital campaign feasibility study for Ocean Institute in 2017, and managed the Development Office for this respected STEM education and California maritime history nonprofit located on Dana Point Harbor in Orange County. In order to enrich the lives of more than 100,000 students, teachers and parents each year, we worked with the Ocean Institute board of directors and former CEO to transform the development capacity of this 40-year old iconic institution that had two tall ships, a research vessel and 33,000 square feet of science labs. In 2018, Ocean Institute earned a $1 million grant from the Sahm Family Foundation to introduce shark education to its campus and programming, and completed the year with nearly $3 million in philanthropic support.
