Marissa is the newest addition to Vantage in Philanthropy. She will assist the team with all client services including capital campaigns, digital marketing, social media presence, annual appeals, and nonprofit management services.
Marissa most recently served as the Development Coordinator at Children’s Friend, Rhode Island's oldest nonprofit child welfare organization. She managed all facets of the agency’s volunteer and intern program, coordinated the annual Spirit of Giving Holiday Drive (helping over 1,400 families and impacting over 4,000 individuals), and planned and managed all logistics for the Children’s Friend 5K Walk/Run and the Investing in Our Children Corporate Luncheon. These annual events fundraised over $240,000 and had record breaking results during her time. Marissa was also instrumental in annual reports and appeals, prospect research and donor relations.
In 2015, Marissa was selected to become the Founding Curator of the Global Shaper’s Providence Hub. The Global Shapers Community – an initiative of the World Economic Forum - is a network of Hubs developed and led by young people between 20 and 30 years old who are exceptional in their potential, their achievements and their drive to make a contribution to their communities. She is committed to making a positive, tangible impact through local projects in Rhode Island. So far, more than half of all Hubs (450+ Global Hubs) have established local initiatives aimed at tackling some of the most pressing problems in their communities.
Previously to Children’s Friend, Marissa worked at Hasbro, Inc. and coordinated Hasbro’s Global Day of Joy, a company-wide day of service that engaged 5,100 Hasbro employees (US and International) in 137 community service projects in 33 countries. She was an AmeriCorps VISTA at Social Enterprise Greenhouse, a startup nonprofit that focused on revitalizing the Rhode Island economy through social and micro entrepreneurs. Prior to AmeriCorps, Marissa worked at Brown Brothers Harriman in Boston’s Financial District.
Marissa graduated from Providence College in 2011 with her Bachelor’s Degree in Global Studies, Business and Economics.
